Omani Foreign Minister Yousef Bin Alawi Bin Abdullah is to arrive tomorrow on an official visit to Egypt, during which he is conveying a message from Oman's Sultan Qaboos Bin Said to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. The message includes means of carrying out the resolutions of the Arab foreign ministers council that was recently held in Beirut and of convening an annual summit for Arab heads of state, kings, princes and rulers. Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz on Thursday in Riyadh received a telephone call from Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Talks dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and developments on the Arab and international arenas. Go

Prime minister of Malta, Eddie Fenech Adami, who is currently on a visit to Libya, conferred in Tripoli Thursday with Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi on the situation in the Mediterranean. Go

The speaker of the Italian Parliament, Lutciano Lanti, will arrive today in Damascus leading a parliamentary delegation in a visit to Syria which will last for two days where he will hold talks with the speaker of the Syrian People's Assembly, Abdul Qader Qaddoura and several Syrian state officials. Egypt will participate in the Somali peace conference on April 20 in Djibouti in which representatives of opposing Somali factions, the Arab League, the UN, the European Commission, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development, Egypt, Ethiopia and the Organization of African Unity will participate. Egyptian sources said this conference comes as part of the initiative of Ismael Omar Guelleh, president of Djibouti, to solve the Somali problem and create the basis for peace and stability among the factions. Algerian diplomatic sources asserted the intention of Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika to visit Paris at the beginning of next summer in the two countries' attempts to develop bilateral relations between them following Egyptian mediation made recently by President Mubarak and the meeting between French President Jacques Chirac and President Bouteflika on the margin of the European- African summit that was recently held in Cairo which contributed to developing the bilateral relations between Algeria and France. Jordan imported a group of Australian gazelles to establish a multipurpose natural protectorate in the Jordanian area of Zorba, as 110 gazelles-- similar to the extinct Arab species-- arrived in Jordan to be raised and to encourage the studies and research concerning these animals in addition to developing the economic and social life in the area. Many Egyptian banks started establishing a private company to spread bank credit cards with a capital of $2 million, in which the Egyptian I.T. company for investment contributes 45% of the capital, while the VISA international front contributes 20%, the Egyptian banks which issue visa cards in Egypt contributes 30%, and the supporting and decision-making center affiliated to the Cabinet contributes 5%. Egyptian Minister of Local Development Mostafa Abd El-Kader said the government decided to establish permanent fairs for Egyptian products in the Arab and African states to facilitate exports of entrepreneurial products of the Egyptian institutes and universities and small industrial projects in a systematic way and to market these products so that the Egyptian youths can compete in the international markets in addition to improving their innovation potentials, which is a national aim that is supervised by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Moroccan and Gulf investors will convene a meeting in Casablanca next May 2-3 to study business opportunities in Morocco, Moroccan Economy and Finance Minister Fathallah Oualalou announced on Thursday. The meeting will be attended by the major investors in the six Gulf states (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman), he told MAP news agency. Morocco will present to the Arabian businessmen investment projects in the realms of tourism, real-estate, industry, agriculture, fisheries and telecommunications. Go
