Egyptian industrial union objects to European partnership agreement

The Egyptian industrial union council announced its opposition to the European - Egyptian partnership agreement that is due to be signed soon between Cairo and the European Union member states.

A statement issued by the union yesterday said the union's meetings yesterday asserted that carrying out the agreement in its current form allows the European exports into the Egyptian markets easily without presenting any similar treatment for Egyptian exports to the European markets.

The statement added that there are huge losses awaiting the Egyptian food industries, textiles, engineering, chemical and medicine industries, in addition to cosmetics.
