Study at French university in Cairo to begin in two years
Egypt-France, Education, 4/14/2000
Francios Dobair, France's ambassador in Cairo, said that studies in the French university in Cairo will commence within two years and that 3,200 male and female Egyptian students who have graduated from the secondary schools will be allowed to resume their studies at the university.
Dobair said a contract specifies a piece of land for the university in one of Cairo's districts and that the university aims at allowing an opportunity for distinguished study for speakers of the French language and an opportunity to benefit from French experience in developing higher education.
He hailed the Arab League council's choosing a piece of land that is specified for the different institutes and faculties outside the crowded areas of Cairo to contribute to achieving the Egyptian government's plan to ease the severity of traffic and noise in the Egyptian capital.
