Founder of Moroccan Jews World Rally passes away

David Amar, founding president of the Moroccan Jews World Rally, passed away Monday in Switzerland at the age of 79.
Born in 1921, Amar chaired for several decades the Council of the Israelite Community in Morocco. He was also delegate president of Morocco's largest private corporation, ONA.
He was among the initiators of the first Arab-Israeli peace contacts in the Middle East.
He was buried at the Israelite graveyard of Versailles, France.
