Malta's prime minister starts visit to Libya

Malta's prime minister has asserted that his talks with the Libyan officials will deal with laying the foundation for a closer and better cooperation between the two countries and to discuss the Mediterranean between the countries of the Mediterranean and the European Union.
In an arrival statement at Syrte city, Maltese Premier Eddie Fenech Adami who will be on a several-day visit to Libya said he hoped this visit would be fruitful for the two sides.
For his part the secretary of the people's general committee in Libya, Ambarak Allah al-Shamekh, said that concentration during the talks with the Maltese official will be on areas of cooperation in various fields.
He added that Libya welcomes any form of cooperation to deepen the ties between the two countries, adding that the coming phase will witness intensified cooperation between the two countries.
