El-Sadek El-Mahdi to meet with US ambassador in Cairo on Sunday
Sudan-International, Politics, 4/12/2000

Former Sudanese Prime Minister El-Sadek El-Mahdi, head of the opposition Ummah Party, is due to meet with the US ambassador in Cairo, Daniel Kurtzer, on Sunday.

El-Mahdi will also meet with the British ambassador and tomorrow will meet with the ambassadors of Eritrea, Kenya and Uganda together, then will meet the Ethiopian and Djiboutian ambassadors to inform them of his party's stance toward the current developments in Sudan.

El-Mahdi met separately today with the Italian and French ambassadors.

The manager of the Ummah Party's office in Cairo, Salah Galal, told ArabicNews.com that the aim of the meetings is informing the countries concerned with the developments in Sudan of the importance of having clear stances supporting the collective conference resolution and practicing pressures to resume it, as well as well isolating the dictatorial agenda that calls to continue the war.
