Morocco, Saudi Arabia set up friendship parliamentary group

A friendship and cooperation parliamentary group will be set up by the Saudi Shoura Council and the Moroccan Chamber of Advisors (upper house of the Moroccan parliament).
The decision was made at talks in Rabat Tuesday between the speakers of the two institutions, Sheikh Mohamed Ben Ibrahim Ben Joubeir, who is currently on a visit to Morocco, and Mohamed Jalal Essaid.
The group will strengthen relations between the two legislative institutions.
The two sides surveyed means to upgrade cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment.
Talks covered also the challenges facing the Arab-Islamic Oumma, the role to be played by the two countries to foster solidarity and fraternity ties between Arab states and latest development in Mideast peace process.
Means to upgrade bilateral cooperation were also at the focus of talks Sheikh Ben Joubeir had Monday with Moroccan minister of waqfs and Islamic affairs, Abdelkebir Alaoui M'daghri.
The Saudi official started Sunday a four-day visit to Morocco.
