One student killed, six wounded at the Saint Joseph University

One Lebanese university student was killed on Tuesday and other six of his colleagues were wounded in the explosion of a bomb the killed student was playing with on Saint Joseph University's premises.

Eyewitnesses and security sources at the university in al-Mansoureyah in the northern Matin said that at 9 a.m. (Lebanese local time), a first year student at the faculty of engineering, was seen entering the university premises carrying a hand-grenade and started playing with the explosive.

The students, frightened by the bomb, started to scream when Ajaltouni threw the bomb between their feet, and when it did not go off they thought it was an fake bomb or just a game.

They students entered the class, and when the first lesson finished and students started to leave the class at 10 a.m. a violent explosion was heard in the classroom, which resulted in killing the student that threw the bomb and wounding three others who were all admitted to hospital.
