King Mohammed receives James Baker

King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid, chaired in Rabat Monday a work session with the personal envoy of the U.N. secretary-general for the Sahara, James Baker.

In a statement to the press, Baker termed his talks with the king as fruitful and positive. He said talks covered means of unlocking the U.N. settlement plan for the Sahara.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister Mohamed Benaissa, Interior Minister Ahmed Midaoui, Foreign Affairs Secretary of State Taieb Fassi Fihri, Interior Secretary of State Fouad Ali Al-Himma, Morocco's representative at the U.N., Ahmed Snoussi, and ambassador coordinator with MINURSO, Mohamed Loulichki.

The meeting was also attended by special representative of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan for Sahara issue, William Eagleton, and representative of the U.N system in Morocco, Bouna Semou Diouf.
