Mubarak meets with Barak in Cairo
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 4/10/2000

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is discussing developments in the peace process on all tracks today with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak who is arriving today for a brief visit.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa stated that the atmosphere surrounding the peace process on the bilateral tracks affects the multilateral tracks and all related activities.

In answering a question concerning what was said by Muscat about delaying convening the water committee in the multilateral negotiations and whether Cairo is committed to this same policy toward the possible conference, Moussa said Egypt is committed to the same measure.

He added that Egypt will consider convening the economic conference in time, referring that Oman announced the delay of the water committee meeting scheduled for April 15 due to the problems in the peace efforts.
