Bashar al-Assad participates in Lebanese - Syrian symposium on developing the Internet
Syria-Lebanon, Economics, 4/10/2000

Bashar al-Assad, son of Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, agreed on participating in a Lebanese - Syrian symposium concerning developing the Internet and data technology, organized by the Syrian scientific association for data which is headed by Bashar in association with the Lebanese assembly for data.

This symposium will be held on April 25- 29, as al-Assad library will host the activities from April 25- 26, then work at the convention center in Beirut.

The symposium will tackle many topics like modern technology in data and communications, the computer programming industry and qualifying the Lebanese and Syrian youths to work in this field.

A fair called "Sham 2000" for technology and data as well as communications systems will be held on the margin of the symposium.
