India, Tunisia sign extradition treaty

India and Tunisia signed recently an extradition treaty to make cooperation between the two countries in suppression of crime more effective, The Press Trust of India PTI said.
The treaty was signed during a visit India's junior external affairs minister Ajit Kumar Panja paid to Tunis to attend the eighth Indo-Tunisian Joint Commission meeting.
Panja was on transit in Cairo from Tunisia to Sudan where he will co-chair the second meeting of the Indo-Sudan Joint Commission.
India and Tunisia also signed a memorandum of understanding to promote cooperation in aquaculture, fish genetics and fish processing, soil conservation, vegetable and animal production, and exchange of training courses and experts along with genetic material and scientific information.
A program for cooperation in the fields of science and
technology focusing on areas of biotechnology, information science, medical sciences and renewable energy sources was also finalised by the two countries.
