Morocco defeats Gambia in world cup preliminary heat match

Morocco started its quest of a 6th qualification for the World Cup finals with an away victory 1-0 against Gambia Sunday in Banjul.
The victorious goal was netted by rising star, Bouchaib Lambarki of Raja Casablanca at the 62nd minute.
The Moroccans played the match with a new-look team, made up mainly of home-based young players, backed by experienced Mustapha Hajji of England's Coventry club and Noureddine Naybet of Spain's Deportivo La Coruna.
The return match will be played in two weeks in Casablanca.
Morocco showed in in five World Cup finals (1970, 1986, 1994 and 1998).
