Kuwait opposes normalization with Israel before reaching just Middle East peace
Kuwait, Politics, 4/10/2000

Kuwaiti First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad has asserted his country's refusal of any sort of normalization with Israel before reaching a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

In a press statement published on Sunday in Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah added that Kuwait will not carry out normalization with Israel unless a peace agreement is concluded with Syria, Lebanon and Palestine.

Meanwhile, the speaker of the Yemeni Parliament, Sheikh Abdullah al-Ahmar stressed his opposition to normalization of relations with Israel before the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, withdrawal from the Syrian Golan and from south Lebanon, the restoration of all occupied Arab lands and rights and the return of the refugees to their homeland.

In remarks he made to the Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Am published on Sunday, Sheikh al-Ahmar strongly condemned the visit of a Jewish Israeli delegation to Sanaa.
