Armed groups commit new carnage in Algeria

The Algerian daily al-Bilad said on Sunday that the Armed Islamic Group slaughtered seven shepherds in al-Baghayteh area of the Chlef district, east of the capital, Algiers.
Meanwhile, the Algerian daily al-Sahafah reported on Sunday that three members of the civil defense force were killed by the armed groups in Sidi Bel Abbes province while four members of the Algerian security forces were wounded in Boumerdes province.
Al-Khabar daily said on Sunday that the security forces arrested one armed group member in Ain Defla province and that the Algerian security forces killed several gunmen during mopping-up operations in Mascara and Sidi Bel Abbes provinces.
