Gulf foreign ministers begin meeting today

Two days of meetings of the foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council member states are starting today. The GCC states are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

The ministers are to discuss relations of the Gulf states with Iran and the problem of the three Gulf islands (Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and Abu Mousa) which are occupied by Iran and claimed by the UAE.

The ministers will also discuss in their 74th periodic meeting developments on Iraq's implementation of UN Security Council resolutions and means of increasing the volume of joint cooperation among the GCC members states in the economic and informational fields.

They will also address the environment and human rights, the Middle East peace process and topics that concern the GCC member states in the Arab and international arenas.
