French secretary of state for industry in Libya
Libya-France, Economics, 4/7/2000
The secretary of state for industry is going to Libya on April 9 and 10 for the international trade fair in Tripoli.
An official statement said today the international fair is an important event and will be attended by 31 countries. In addition to France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Germany, Greece, Holland and Belgium will be represented. The French pavilion is big, apparently the second largest in size, and more than 100 exhibitors are expected.
This shows obviously that French businesses are interested in Libya ,and our general interests in developing economic and trade relations with Libya, the statement said.
It is normal for the industry minister to encourage this dynamism and show his support for French businesses by attending the fair.
This visit also demonstrates our wish to participate in the restructuring and development efforts Libya is making to pull out of the years of embargo.
