Egypt, Economics, 4/7/2000

A delegation from the World Gold Council headed by Moaz Barakat, the regional manager of the council, is due to arrive in Cairo on Saturday.

During its four-day visit, the delegation will meet with ministers of trade and tourism as well as with officials in the investment sector, banks and financing to hold discussions with them concerning the final arrangements for the gold marketing program during the coming session of the tourism and shopping festival that will be held during July.

Samah Nabeel, advisor for the council, told ArabicNews.com that the council will contribute to organizing the participation of jewelers and gold traders in the festival, especially after an increase in the percentage of gold sales during the last festival of 20% over the usual levels of gold purchases in Egypt.
