Egypt, Economics, 4/7/2000
Egyptian Minister of Social Affairs and Insurance Amina El-Gendi asserted that 109 million L.E was paid in compensation for the early pensions for workers in the governmental public sector and the public business sector due to the privatization policy and sale of Egyptian public companies.
She said Egyptian banks and the business corporations started establishing private projects and saving instruments especially for those entitled to early pensions.
El-Gendi added that there is a plan to adjust the positions of 3,000 former workers in the government and the public sector concerning their social and health circumstances and providing the proper income in some cases for those whose service has ended without earning a pension.
