European Commission: Discussions with Gaddafi will be difficult

A statement issued by the European Commission in Cairo expressed the disappointment of the European Union toward progress in Libyan - European relations following the severe criticism addressed by Libyan leader Colonel Moammar Gaddafi in his speech before the African- European summit which concluded its works on Tuesday in Cairo. The statement said Gaddafi's remarks to European officials topped by Romano Prodi, head of the commission adds difficulty to the coming discussions, especially in shadow of Libya's desire to enter into the Barcelona declaration for European- Mediterranean cooperation.
