Morocco's oldest industrial zone to be restructured

The industrial zone of Sidi Bernoussi-Zenata, Casablanca, the oldest in Morocco, will be refurbished to become environment-friendly.
Under an agreement signed between the Casablanca water and electricity utility, Lydec, and Sidi Bernousi-Zenata economic operators association, IZDIHAR, water, sewage and electricity infrastructure will be rehabilitated and an awareness campaign will be staged to sensitize firms to the need to lower water and electricity consumption.
The agreement provides as well for enabling the zone's shantytown dwellers to benefit from low-cost housing programs.
