Success of Africa - Europe summit

The African - European summit which concluded in Cairo yesterday evening succeeded in reaching agreements on important issues topped by supporting economic cooperation, banning violent disputes and condemning terrorism after long discussions that took two days concerning the different African problems and issues related to cooperation with Europe.
The African - European summit issued yesterday at the conclusion of its works the Cairo declaration, which asserted the importance of confronting the debts, as they were considered to be among the most serious economic issues that confront development in Africa, while armed disputes are considered to be the most important political issue.
The leaders assured the importance of respecting and protecting human rights, regardless of race, religion or social status, focusing on the importance of enhancing and establishing democratic corporations based on political diversity and separation among the authorities.
The European side expressed its readiness to present urgent technical aid to the governments, emphasizing the importance of talking necessary measures to combat corruption on the internal and international levels, guaranteeing in the illegal acquired funds and these deposited in the foreign banks to be given back to their original lands and focusing on respecting the rights of the immigrants according to international law.
The Cairo declaration also referred to importance of combating terrorism and the rapid ratification of the related agreements to combat it, as well as the complete implementation of the agreements in addition to exchanging data on this matter.
It was also agreed to establish a mechanism for following up on the summit at three levels. The first is the level of heads of state, as they are to convene once every three years; the second is the foreign ministers, as they convene at least once a year; while the third is for experts and technicians.
