Royal message to Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak
Morocco-Egypt, Politics, 4/5/2000
King Mohammed VI addressed President Hosni Mubarak a message of thanks and gratitude at the welcome and hospitality the sovereign and his party were met with during their stay in Cairo for the Africa-Europe summit.
The king said the meetings showed how the two states' views converged on common interest issues because of their geo-strategic location and long-standing history as bridges between the European and African continents. Both countries, he went on, grant utmost importance to the Euro-African dimension to foreign policy and endeavor for closer ties and a common strategy of complementarity and partnership.
The king assured President Mubarak that the kingdom, bound to the African family by historic, religious and civilizational ties and fruitful cooperation, solidarity and assistance relations, and associated with Europe by a close partnership relation, will spare no effort in playing its role of reactivating Euro-African relations.
The message also voiced hope for a coming meeting to carry on brotherly consultation and strengthen ties for the good of the two people, the African continent and the Moslem nation at large.
