Yemen asserts importance of Clinton - Saleh summit today

Yemeni Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Abdul Kader Bajamal asserted the importance of the summit meeting that is gathering Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh and US President Bill Clinton in Washington today for the first time since 1981.
Bajamal added in an interview with Yemeni radio yesterday that Sanaa will assure in the summit the importance that Middle East peace be just and comprehensive.
The Yemeni president asserted in his meeting with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan and with the council of Jewish organizations in the USA the importance of establishing peace in the Middle East, saying that the issues of security and stability in the Red Sea and the African Horn area occupy an important position in these discussions.
