Shedding light on Gaddafi in the African - European summit, end of isolation

The meetings of Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi with numerous European leaders could be one of the most prominent event on the margin of works of the African- European summit, and his declarations could garner the most media attention.

These meetings, which took place in headquarters of Colonel Gaddafi's residency, included officials from Italy and Ireland and the head of the European Commission, Romano Prodi.

Gaddafi's meetings were resumed today with meetings with the Spanish prime minister and others, giving clear indications of ending Libya's isolation with the European states.

The meetings come than 10 days after visit of the first diplomatic mission to Libya in more than 20 years in a step that might lift the embargo on Libya.
