Gulf states foreign ministers to meet on April 8
Gulf, Politics, 4/4/2000

The foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will hold the meetings of their 74th ordinary session in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 8.

GCC Secretary General Sheikh Jamil al-Hujeilan said in a statement on Monday in Riyadh that the GCC ministerial council will discuss the question of the Middle East peace process in light of recent developments and stress the restoration of the legitimate Arab rights, the importance of Israel's commitment to implementing international legitimacy resolutions 242, 338 and 425, and the land-for-peace formula as well as other issues of concern to the GCC on the Arab and international arenas.

Sheikh al-Hujeilan added that the GCC will also review relations between the GCC and Iran, especially the efforts made by the tripartite committee (of the GCC member states) to start direct negotiations between the UAE and Iran over the question of the islands of Greater and Lesser Tanb and Abu Mousa.
