Banks called to contribute in job creation in rural areas

Moroccan economy and finance minister, Fathallah Oualalou called on the representatives of banking sector to contribute to the financing of job-generating projects in rural areas.
Chairing, a meeting of the Moroccan national currency and savings council (CNME) held Wednesday, the minister noted that Morocco is experiencing for the second consecutive year a serious drought and that the government has worked out a plan worth $ 650 million to that effect.
He added that the effort to be exerted by the State needs to be reinforced by the involvement of all the economic operators especially the banking sector.
He further underlined the role of banks in taking up the challenges facing Morocco in terms of growth and job creation.
