Yemen, Politics, 4/1/2000
The Yemeni government decided retiring (pensioning) this year 16 officers and soldiers in the interior ministry and 77 diplomats among whom are ambassadors.
A source in the Yemeni embassy in Cairo said that the ministry started implementing the necessary procedures for this.
ArabicNews.com learned that among these individuals are Yemen's permanent delegate at U.N in New York Abdullah El-Ashtal , and ambassadors Mohammed Hadi Awad, Abu Allah El-Wahabi and Mohamed Abdo Shatfa.
This step comes in the frame of implementing instructions of the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh to make a comprehensive reform in the Yemeni diplomatic field abroad and to apply the pensioning off law to everyone without exceptions.
