Moussa meets German foreign minister

Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa met today with German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer in Cairo. Fischer arrived in Cairo after an African tour and will in Cairo attend an Egyptian - German summit between the Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak and his German counterpart Gerhard Schroeder on the margin of the Afro-European summit.

German sources said that the Mubarak - Schroeder meeting is to discuss the Egyptian - German relations and evaluating the communications between the two countries

Fischer said its is not possible to find an answer for the African problems for the continent as a whole, for there are disputes among countries of the African countries and heavy debts.

Concerning what will be raised by the European side at the African - European summit, Fischer said that it is important to have cooperation based on equal basis of partnership in seeking to find a solution for the different African problems, clarifying that the solution does not come by providing more financial aids only, referring that the debts exemption issue forms a great importance for the African countries while it could be rescheduled for other countries.

He added that the East of the Mediterranean Sea area will have a great opportunities in the framework of Barcelona Process in ratifying peace in the Mediterranean Sea area, expressing his hope that the Africa - Europe summit will achieve a great success.
