German wins contract for establishing and managing two airports

The Egyptian general organization for the civil aviation agreed on having German company A.P.P. establish Farafra and two airport (Wahat and El-Baharia) based on the B.O.T. (Build - Operate - Transfer) system.
The two airports cost 400 million L.E. each of which will be established on 25,000 Feddans area. A.P.P. was the only bidder for establishing the two airports.
In its plan, the Egyptian organization intends to establish 7 airports based on the B.O.T. system. These airports are Ras Sedr, Sohag, Ain Sokhna, Shark Owainat, and Wahat El-Daghla in addition to Farafra and Wahat Baharia.
Currently, two airport are being established in Alamain and Marsa Alam areas.
These airports aim at serving the tourism market and the large investments being established in those areas.
