Egyptian Transportation Minister Ibrahim El-Domairi said his ministry received three international offers to finance the establishment of the third stage of Cairo's subway that extends from Cairo International Airport to the Embaba area. He said saying there are serious offers from Japanese, French and German companies to establish this stage whose cost reaches 10 billion LE and contributes to transporting more than 1.5 million passengers daily. The Kuwaiti Umma Council (parliament) agreed on a law to support the national labor which aims at encouraging Kuwaiti graduates of universities and higher institutes-- estimated at 10,000 graduates annually-- to work outside the governmental sector, which currently empoys more than 90% of the Kuwaiti labor force. The law states that the government will assist financially those who wish in the Kuwaiti private sector, which pays lesser salaries. Go

The number of projects which took place in the frame of encouraging the Egyptian private sector, which is affiliated to the Mediterranean - European cooperation program, reached 70. More than 50 private projects have been evaluated. A report issued by the European Commission in Cairo said workshops will be established to invigorate the performance of the Egyptian private sector with Egyptian non-governmental business organizations in encouraging joint cooperation among European, Mediterranean and Egyptian companies. The German airline Lufthansa decided to establish a sales bureau in Beirut, Lebanon due to an increase in tourism to and from Lebanon. A statement issued by the regional bureau of Lufthansa in Cairo said it was also agreed to increase the number of Lufthansa trips from 3 to 5 per week during the first half of April to pave the way for organizing daily trips to and from Beirut in the summer.
