Israel uses taplines to steal Lebanese water

Lebanese Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss has called on the international community to take strong measures to deter Israel's continued daily and repeated aggressions against Lebanese civilians and humanitarian organizations in south Lebanon as well as to question Israel's practices its prisons.

Meanwhile, France has expressed caution towards statements made by Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy on deploying UN forces in south Lebanon and stressed backing for Israel's withdrawal from south Lebanon within an agreement.

Moreover, news reports from south Lebanon said on Thursday that Israel steals the water of the Syrian city of Banias (in the Golan) as well as the Lebanese waters through the taplines in order to provide water to the Israeli settlements in the Galilee. The reports added that Israel also steals the soil and sand from the occupied Lebanese area of al-Arqoub.

On the other hand, the Israeli aggressions carried out on Thursday against south Lebanon and the Western Bekaa resulted in damaging several houses, especially in the towns of Mefdoun and al-Lweizeh.

The Israeli warplanes continued their raids and bombardment of several Lebanese villages and the Lebanese resistance retaliated by attacking the Israeli troops and their militia allies in al-Shaqeif castle, Beer Klab, Kassaret al-Aroush, al-Rayhan Barrack, al-Muheisbat and al-Debshe, and direct hits were achieved.
