24th anniversary of the Land Day
Palestine, Politics, 3/30/2000

Today is the 24th anniversary of the Land Day, an occasion which is celebrated by the Palestinian people with stronger determination to resist the occupation and its measures as well as to liberate the lands and restore their usurped legitimate rights.

News reports from the occupied lands said that the Palestinian citizens in the territories of 1948 will organize demonstration and marches of protest on this national occasion.

The chairman of the committee of chairmen of the Arab local authorities, Muhammad Zeidan, asked Israeli Security Minister Shlomo Ben Ami not to deploy Israeli forces to the Arab villages and cities so as to avoid confrontation.

Meanwhile, a demonstration was observed in Ramallah city against the Israeli occupation, and the demonstrators called for releasing the Palestinian prisoners and chanted slogans denouncing the occupation.
