Quote of the day: What is most precious for us is our Liberty
Regional, Culture, 3/28/2000
"What is most precious for us is our Liberty," said USA Senator Patrick Leahy, addressing issues related to free speech.
This was said in the greatest debating body, the Senate, where many are attempting to restrict the interpretation of the First Amendment through different means and under different pretexts and in different areas of law, opening the door for further change later.
In the history of the World, the First Amendment stands as a unique statement in-of-itself. We bring this to your attention, because it effects us and you.
We ask: Liberty, when the citizens are busy at work trying to make a living, and when the complexity of laws gets to be a tyranny by preventing the comprehension of the effect on liberty by the laws being adopted, then who is to protect thee?
