Eighth conference for Egyptology opens today in Cairo

Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni is opening today the 8th international conference for Egyptology, which will last for one week and is held at the Mena House hotel in front of the Giza pyramids.
Gaballah Ali Gaballah, head of the conference and secretary general of the Egyptian supreme council for archeology, said this conference is considered the largest assembly in the world for archeology experts, as 1,500 scientists representing 50 countries are participating in this conference.
He said the conference will witness a group of specialized scientific debates which discuss issues of the ancient Egyptian language, important new archeological discoveries, the fields of art, history, literature and the pharaohs as well as repairing and organizing the archeological locations and honoring nine of Egyptologists from the UK, France, the USA, Germany and Egypt.
