35% decrease in exports of Egyptian citrus to the gulf states
Egypt, Agriculture, 3/27/2000
A report issued by the Egyptian council for exporting agricultural crops revealed a severe decrease in Egyptian citrus exports to Gulf Cooperation Council member states during the last two years reached 35% under previous levels.
The report said this decrease is because some citrus exporters decreased export prices to the Gulf states by 40% under market prices, which damaged the other exporters, especially as these procedures did not create an increase in the quantities exported, as some Egyptian exporters thought.
