10,000 tourism nights because of golf sport

The sport of golf accounted for 10,000 tourism nights for Egypt last year.
Kamal Okasha, chairman of golf travel company which specializes in this field, said 1,700 golf players visited Egypt during the tourism season in 1998 - 1999. He said his company will host, in cooperation with the Egyptian Tourism Ministry, a group of golf tourism experts, owners of companies and information professionals on a visit to Egypt on March 28- April 3 to visit the golf courses and play grounds in Cairo, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada and Luxor.
Okasha stated that the golf tourism has become one of the most important products in the world, expressing his sorrow for Egypt's entry into this field and its lack of a strong presence on the golf tourism map.
