Sudanese Ummah Party refuses mediation to settle disputes with opposition coalition

A leading figure at the Sudanese Ummah Party, Abdul Rasoul al-Nour, stated that there are mediation attempts carried out by Egyptian and Arab sources to contain the disputes arising in the Sudanese Democratic National Alliance, an opposition coalition, that resulted in freezing the Ummah Party's membership in the coalition in protest against its way in dealing with the issue of a political solution to the Sudanese crisis.
Arab diplomatic sources said that the spokesman for the coalition, Farouk Abu Issa, held lengthy talks with Abdul Rasoul al-Nour in which he stressed the importance of containing the crisis and restoring the unity of the coalition.
However, the spokesman of the Ummah Party, Hassan Ahmad al-Hassan, said that resuming the membership of the Ummah Party is linked to the call for convening a general conference for the coalition and to maintain its performance. He stressed the importance of reaching of a comprehensive political solution to the Sudanese crisis.
