Moroccan thinker gets Spanish prize

Moroccan thinker Abdellah Laroui was awarded the International Catalunia prize by the autonomous government of Catalunia.
The $80,000 prize is awarded annually to thinkers contributing to enriching world cultures.
Laroui, 67, is a researcher in history and literature. He writes in Arabic and French.
Laroui told the press the prize will help publicize Arab culture and civilization in Spain.
