International forum condemns armed groups massacres in Algeria
Algeria-Regional, Politics, 3/24/2000
The International Forum on Islam and Democracy denounced in its final statement issued on Thursday in Algiers the massacres committed by the armed groups in Algeria, saying that the acts of killing and destruction carried out by these armed groups are in contradiction to Muslim norms which forbid killing.
Arab and Muslim scholars who participated in the forum stressed that the policy of concord and reconciliation in Algeria is rightful and in compliance with the teachings of Islam in calling for forgiveness and tolerance among citizens.
Meanwhile, the Algerian daily al-Khabar said the Algerian security forces killed one leader of the armed group called Alqama in Bouira province.
The Algerian daily al-Bilaad said the Algerian security forces arrested two armed group members from Bu Ismael town in Tipaza province.
However, a bomb explosion in an oil gas linking Hasi al-Ramel and Dals resulted in a huge fire which was later put out by firemen.
