Yemen denies any normalization of relations with Israel
Yemen-Israel, Politics, 3/24/2000

Yemen has denied any intention to normalize with Israel. It stressed that the position of the Yemeni government towards this issue is clear and firm in that it will not normalize with Israel until all occupied Arab territories are liberated.

The secretary for the Yemeni Foreign Ministry, Ghaleb Ali Jamil, said that the statements recently made by Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation Shimon Peres that Yemen has taken encouraging steps in the context of normalization in permitting Israelis of Yemeni origin to visit Yemen are completely rootless and null allegations.

Jamil stressed that Yemen did not make such a step, describing Peres' statements as a sort of provocation aimed at undermining Arab unity. He made it clear that the repeated Israeli statements in this regard are a provocative operation which is totally rejected by Yemen, the same as all Israeli attempts made in this regard.
