Orascom purchases 25% of the mobile phone net in Pakistan

The Egyptian Orascom Telecom company purchased 25% of the shares of the mobile telephone network in Pakistan.
Naguib Saweris, head of the board of directors of Orascom, told ArabicNews.com that the transaction is considered a great achievement for his company, especially as the Pakistani market comprises 110 million citizens and grows rapidly.
Orascom Telecom purchased the main shares in the mobile phone networks in 11 African countries after purchasing 80% of Telecel International's shares.
Orascom has plans to purchase mobile phone networks in Algeria, Yemen, Syria, Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco.
