First Qatari ambassador in Manama

Qatar announced on Wednesday the accreditation of its first ambassador in Manama after it has recently launched the process of establishing normal relations with Bahrain, despite the still-standing border disputes.
The Qatar News Agency said that Sheikh Abdullah Bin Thamer Bin Muhammad al-Thani was appointed according to an Emiri decree as ambassador of Qatar in Manama.
In February, the two states decided to find a fraternal solution to their border disputes at the conclusion of a meeting held in Manama for the joint committee co-chaired by their two Emirs.
Qatar which calls for the restoration of Hawar island in the Gulf and the Fashat al-Dubble, controlled by Bahrain, and had unilaterally submitted this issue to the International Court of Justice which will reconsider this case by the end of May.
