Egyptian - French media cooperation, fostered

Information Minister Safwat El-Sherif held a session of talks Tuesday with a French information delegation on means of furthering joint cooperation.

Emerging from the meeting, Sherif recalled reaching an agreement on a 24-hour joint France-Egyptian production to be broadcast via the fifth French channel under the header "International Cities".

"The program will feature the millenia-old Egyptian culture and civilization, history and monuments," he added.

An agreement was concluded on transmitting French channels via the Egyptian Nilesat as well as the new Nilesat 102, due to be launched into orbit on August.

Sherif also discussed with the visiting French delegation ways to benefit from the services and potentials of the Media Production City in the 6th of October City as well as the projected free media zone.
