Malaysia, Yemen sign pact on education

Malaysia and Yemen signed an agreement Tuesday on cooperation in the field of education.

The agreement was signed by Education Minister Musa Mohamad and his visiting Yemeni counterpart, Yahya Mohamed Abdullah Al-Shouaibi, in the Malaysian capital, Malaysian news agency Bernama reported.

The agreement would allow for wider coverage of programs and activities that could be jointly undertaken by the two Islamic nations.

The programs and activities include the exchange of academic staff, experts and teachers through research, teaching assignments or study visits, training of teachers and educational administrators, cooperation in scientific research and Islamic studies as well as exchange programs between educational institutions of excellence.
