Moroccan - Namibian cooperation reviewed
Morocco-Namibia, Politics, 3/22/2000
Ways to enhance Moroccan-Namibian cooperation in decentralization and local councils matters topped talks held in Rabat Tuesday between Moroccan interior minister, Ahmed Midaoui, and Mayor of the Namibian capital city of Windhoek, Mathew Shikongo.
Midaoui said Morocco is keen on developing cooperation ties with Namibia, especially in the fields of decentralization and local councils.
Shikongo said his visit to Morocco is part of preparations for the second summit "Africities 2000," to be staged in Namibia.
The summit, to be held under the generic topic of "Funding African Local Councils for Sustained Development," will be attended by 1500 participants, including ministers, mayors and local councils executives.
