Bouteflika calls on scholars to end the crisis
Algeria, Politics, 3/22/2000
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Monday appealed to Muslim scholars to help him solve the security problem in Algeria and to address an appeal to the remaining members of the Armed Islamic Group who reject dialogue in order to drop their arms and benefit from the "pardoning."
The Algerian president called on the scholars to react to relieve Algeria from the bloodshed it has been witnessing for eight years and persistently repeated appeals to stand with the "civil concord law" which Bouteflika released after he assumed power in Algeria.
