Kuwait buys American weapons

Kuwait's deputy premier and defense minister, Sheikh Salem al-Sabah, has stressed the continued desire of the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry to buy the US howitzer artillery system, Paladin.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Kuwait, Sheikh Salem said that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense is still persistent to buy the American artillery due to the fact that it is needed by the Kuwaiti Army, adding that the viewpoint of the government backs this inclination, "Yet, we cannot buy, except after the consent of the nation's council (the parliament)."
