Israel renovates Turkish tanks

The Turkish daily Hurryiet said on Monday that Turkey and Israel have reached a agreement in principal stating that the Israeli military industries will renovate 170 tanks for the Turkish Army.
He paper added that launching and maneuvering systems will be repaired for the US M-60 A 3 tanks will be renovated according to a contract at a cost of US $250 million in the framework of a project started by the Turkish Ministry of Defense in 1997.
Turkey and Israel are linked to an agreement on military cooperation signed in February 1996.
Turkey intends to spend some US $150 billion to renovate its army in the coming 30 years.
