Emir of Qatar arrives today in Damascus

At the invitation of Syrian President Hafez al-Assad, the emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani, will visit Syria today and tomorrow.
During his visit Sheikh Hamad hold talks with President al-Assad and high-ranking Syrian officials on bilateral relations, current conditions in the region and inter-Arab relations.
The emir of Qatar will be accompanied by a high-ranking delegation including the premier and the minister of the interior, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa al-Thani; the foreign minister, Sheikh Hamad Bin Jasem Bin Jaber al-Thani; the minister of state, Abdullah Bin Khalifa al-Atiyah; the minister of finance, the economy and commerce, Youssef Hussein Kamal; and the health minister, Dr. Hajar Ahmad Hajar, SANA reported.
Meantime, Qatari sources told ArabicNews.com that Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa al-Thani will visit Italy after finishing his visit to Syria and will meet with Italian officials, with whom he will discuss the latest developments in the peace process, the situations in the Gulf and in Sudan, as well as the initiative he made for reconciliation between Sudan and Eritrea.
